Minster earns comeback win over Indian Lake, falls to Fort Loramie for title

FORT LORAMIE, Ohio (WLIO) — Minster Wildcats picked up a comeback win to open play before falling in the championship at the annual Fort Loramie Invitational.
Taking on Indian Lake Lakers in Game One, the Wildcats found themselves trailing early.
Indian Lake struck first in the bottom of the opening inning. Chance Persinger drove a ball into the right-center field gap, allowing Cooper Hall to score from first and give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. Later in the frame, Brady Golliday added to the advantage with an RBI groundout, pushing the lead to 2-0.
Minster stayed within striking distance and delivered in the seventh inning.
With the game tied at two, Andrew Wiss came through with a clutch base hit up the middle, bringing home Jace Hemmelgarn, who slid in headfirst to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead.
Minster added an insurance run moments later on a passed ball, as Chase Dirksen scored from third to make it 4-2.
The Wildcats held on to secure the win and advance to the championship game.
In the title game, Fort Loramie Redskins defeated Minster 10-0 in five innings, dropping the Wildcats to 9-5 overall.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake defeated Berne Union Rockets 3-1 in the consolation game and moves to 7-7 following the invitational.
