Fairview shuts out Lincolnview to close PBR Spring Classic

DEFIANCE, Ohio (WLIO) — The final game of the PBR Spring Classic featured Fairview Apaches against Lincolnview Lancers, with both teams ranked in their respective divisions.
Lincolnview came in ranked sixth in Division VI, while Fairview entered the matchup ranked 11th in Division V.
Graham Kill got the start on the mound for the Lancers and delivered early, striking out the side on a backwards K to end the second inning. The right-hander finished with four strikeouts over six innings of work.
Elijah Arend matched him pitch for pitch in the early going for Fairview, recording a strikeout of his own in the fifth to keep the game scoreless.
Fairview broke through in the bottom of the fifth.
Hunter Miller sent a fly ball into center field that dropped for a base hit, allowing Gavin Palladino to slide home headfirst and give the Apaches a 1-0 lead. Fairview then added three more runs in the frame to extend the advantage to 4-0.
In the seventh, Arend remained in control on the mound. He fielded a ground ball and fired to first to close out the game.
Fairview secured the shutout victory, defeating Lincolnview 4-0.
