FORT LORAMIE, Ohio (WLIO) — Fort Loramie Redskins punched their ticket to the championship game and didn’t look back at the Fort Loramie Invitational.
In Game Two, the host Redskins squared off with Berne Union Rockets.
Teddy Gaier set the tone early on the mound for Fort Loramie, striking out the batter looking to end the first inning. The right-hander was in control throughout, finishing with four strikeouts across seven innings of work.
After a scoreless start, the Redskins broke through in the third inning.
A throw to third skipped away, allowing Gaier to come all the way around and score the game’s first run, giving Fort Loramie a 1-0 lead.
Still in the third with no outs, Carson Arnold grounded out to second, but Ree Simon crossed the plate on the play to extend the lead to 2-0.
Fort Loramie kept the pressure on as Dylan Meyer executed a bunt, bringing home Sammy Goubeaux to make it a three-run advantage.
The Redskins stayed in control the rest of the way, defeating Berne Union 7-3 to advance to the championship game.
In the title matchup, Fort Loramie carried that momentum into a dominant performance against Minster Wildcats, winning 10-0 in five innings to secure the invitational championship.
Fort Loramie improves to 12-5 on the season, while Minster falls to 9-5 overall.
