OTTOVILLE — Crestview jumped out early and never trailed, pulling away from Ottoville for a 51–36 nonconference boys basketball win at Ottoville High School.
Crestview entered the matchup having won three of the last four meetings in the series and wasted little time setting the tone. Senior Owen Heckler knocked down a three-pointer to spark a 7–0 run out of the gate. Heckler finished with 10 points.
Ottoville answered behind Ashton Miller, who drove to the basket, absorbed contact, and finished through the foul for the Big Green’s first points of the night. Miller later showcased his range in the second quarter, drilling a three from the far corner as Ottoville trimmed the deficit to five. Miller led all scorers with 21 points.
Crestview continued to respond each time Ottoville threatened. Liam Putman attacked the lane for a layup, and later in the game, Will Sheets cleaned up a miss with a putback to keep the Knights comfortably in front. Sheets paced Crestview with 19 points.
Crestview stayed a step ahead throughout the night and closed out the win to improve to 4–5 on the season.
