BATH TOWNSHIP, Allen County, Ohio (WLIO) — A vacant home sustained significant damage in an early Monday morning fire in Bath Township. 

The Bath Township Fire Department was dispatched at 1:53 a.m. to a residence in the 800 block of Christopher Drive. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire in the rear of the house extending into the attic. 

Mutual aid was requested from the Lima, American Township and Perry Township fire departments. 

Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours working to contain and extinguish the blaze. No firefighter injuries were reported. 

Damage to the home is estimated at $75,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

 The Bath Township Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 806 Christopher Drive in Bath Township, Lima, Ohio, at 1:53 a.m.

 Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy fire conditions in the rear of the house, which had extended into the attic area of the residence. 

The home, which was vacant, sustained significant damage, estimated at $75,000 to the structure. 

No fire department personnel were injured. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
