BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WLIO) - Bath Local Schools responding after their levy failed to pass Tuesday night.
The Bath levy was to upgrade the current high school and middle school buildings, yet over 73 percent of voters opposed the idea. This would have raised property taxes, on average, $200 more per year. Many felt as though the tax increase would not outweigh the benefits of new buildings for students.
We talked to the superintendent of Bath Local Schools to hear their response. "Our commitment to students, staff, and the broader community remains unwavering; we will continue to focus on improvements that will help us provide better educational opportunities for our students, and keep students and staff safe,"Â says Mike Estes, superintendent of Bath Schools. "Our priority is to ensure a supportive and secure learning environment for all,"
He adds that listening to feedback from the vote can provide the right path for improvement.
