HARROD, Ohio (WLIO) — The Ada Police Department is investigating the death of a 71-year-old Harrod woman.

Paula Dirmeyer was found dead in her home in the 400 block of North Phillips Road around 8:40 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning.

According to the Ada Police Department, Dirmeyer came to the department on Nov. 24 to report that she had been assaulted in the village of Ada by a known individual. Police opened an investigation at that time.

On Nov. 27, officers were notified by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office that Dirmeyer had been found dead at her rural Allen County home. Her body was transported to Lucas County for an autopsy.

The Allen County Coroner told Your News Now that a cause of death cannot be determined until the full autopsy is complete, a process expected to take more than three months.

The investigation remains ongoing.

On November 24, 2025 Paula Dirmeyer came to the Ada Police Department to report that she had been assaulted within the Village of Ada by a known individual.Officer’s gathered information from her and began an investigation.

On November 27th officers were notified by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office that Paula had been found deceased in her rural Allen County home, her body was transported to Lucas County for a post-mortem exam.

This continues to be an ongoing investigation.
