St. John's Blue Jays blitz Malvern, punch first state title ticket in 24 years with dominant semifinal win

WRIGHT STATE, Ohio (WLIO) — Delphos St. John’s is headed to the state championship game for the first time in 24 years after a commanding 61-32 win over Malvern in the Division VII state semifinal.
The undefeated Blue Jays set the tone early, jumping out to a 12-5 lead after one quarter and extending it to 27-12 by halftime.
Cameron Elwer led the way with a game-high 18 points, while Maddox Kroeger, Jackson Wiechart and Tyce McClain all contributed during a balanced offensive effort.
St. John’s continued to pull away in the second half, cruising to the 29-point victory at the Nutter Center.
Now 28-0, the Blue Jays advance to the state title game for the first time since 2002.
