ADA (WLIO) — Ohio Northern dropped the first of two regular-season matchups against 10th-ranked Baldwin Wallace, falling 55-46 on its home floor.
The Polar Bears got their first bucket of the night from Lexee Brewer, as the junior from Sidney knocked down a three-pointer. Brewer finished with nine points to lead Ohio Northern’s scoring effort.
Courtney Sumner added a highlight for the Polar Bears, slicing through the defense on a strong drive to the basket. The Ada graduate made the layup look easy, accounting for her only points of the game.
Brewer and Gabi Croft connected on a two-man play later in the game, with Croft finding Brewer for another basket. Croft, a Spencerville native, provided the assist on the score.
Ohio Northern’s largest lead of the game was just one point, while Baldwin Wallace built an advantage as large as 16. The Yellow Jackets were able to maintain control down the stretch, handing the Polar Bears a 55-46 loss.
