Lincolnview, Patrick Henry win Districts on busy night of softball

LIMA (WLIO) — District tournament softball action continued Thursday night across northwest and west central Ohio, with several local teams advancing deeper into the postseason.
In Division III, Bath erased a late deficit by scoring the final six runs of the game to defeat St. Marys 6-5 and advance to the district championship game. The Wildkittens will face Clear Fork on Friday at Margaretta.
Defiance also moved on in Division III after defeating Wapakoneta 7-2. The Bulldogs now await the winner between Toledo Central Catholic and Holland Springfield.
In Division VI semifinal action, Ada rolled past Carey 11-1 to secure a spot in Friday’s district final against Colonel Crawford at Shelby.
Lincolnview claimed a Division VI district championship with a 3-0 shutout victory over Fairview, sending the Lancers to the regional tournament.
Patrick Henry is also regional-bound after defeating Woodmore 10-0 in another Division VI district title game.
In Division VII semifinal action, Hardin Northern defeated Upper Scioto Valley 8-4 to advance to the district finals. The Polar Bears will meet Continental on Saturday at Kenton.
