KALIDA — Liberty-Benton’s season came to an end Tuesday night in a hard-fought five-set loss to Otsego in district volleyball play.
After dropping the opening set, the Eagles rallied in the second behind freshman Emelia Kin, whose kill on set point evened the match at one apiece. Otsego edged out a 25-22 win in the third set despite strong defensive play from Ally Hocanson at the net.
Liberty-Benton answered again in the fourth, as Corra DeHart powered home the set-clinching kill to force a decisive fifth. But in the final frame, Otsego held off the Eagles 15-13 to advance, ending Liberty-Benton’s postseason run.
