HARROD (WLIO) — Hardin Northern used timely hitting and power at the plate to defeat Allen East 15-5 in nonconference softball action.
Allen East got on the board in the first inning when Sondra Clum drove in Bronwyn Schaefer with a shallow hit to left field.
Hardin Northern responded with offense of its own. Addy Bacon launched a two-run home run to center field to extend the lead, and Kaitlyn Whitaker followed with a three-run blast over the center field fence. Whitaker finished with two home runs in the game.
In the circle, Lyla Holtzberger recorded five strikeouts over seven innings for the Polar Bears, while Brooklyn Larrison picked up a strikeout for Allen East.
Hardin Northern pulled away the rest of the way to secure the win.
