Defiance season ends in regional semifinal loss to University School

LIMA (WLIO) — Defiance High School saw its postseason run come to an end Thursday with a 4-1 loss to University School in the Division 3 regional semifinals.
The Bulldogs faced one of the top teams in the state, as University School entered the matchup ranked No. 3 in Division 3.
Defiance received a strong offensive performance from Colt Ward, who collected three hits in the game. On the mound, Ike Webb turned in another solid outing, throwing all seven innings while striking out three batters and allowing just one earned run.
Despite the effort, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome University School, which improved to 26-5 on the season with the victory.
Defiance concludes its season with a 17-10 record and a regional semifinal appearance. University School advances to the next round of the Division 3 tournament
