Allen East wins sixth team championship in seven years at county wrestling meet

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Some of the best wrestling talent in Allen County was on display as schools gathered at Bath High School for the annual Allen County Wrestling Tournament.
A total of 14 weight classes were contested, with multiple programs producing individual champions throughout the day. Allen East had four first-place finishers, Bluffton crowned three individual champions.
Shawnee and Lima Central Catholic followed closely behind, each earning two individual titles. St. John’s, Elida, and Spencerville also had wrestlers stand atop the podium with one champion apiece.
In the team standings, Allen East continued its dominance. The Mustangs finished first with 257.5 points to secure the overall team championship. Elida placed second with 237.5 points, while Bluffton rounded out the top three with 216.5.
Shawnee finished fourth, and Spencerville completed the top five in fifth place. Bath, St. John’s, Jefferson, and Lima Central Catholic, Lima Senior and Perry also competed in the team standings.
With the win, Allen East claimed its sixth Allen County team championship in the last seven seasons, further cementing its status as one of the area’s top wrestling programs.
