Alivia Grothaus’ huge third quarter helps send Ottawa-Glandorf to state title game

WRIGHT STATE (WLIO) — Ottawa-Glandorf used a dominant third quarter to defeat Fairland 54-48 in the Division V state semifinal at the Nutter Center.
The Titans were tied 16-16 after the first quarter following a buzzer-beating basket from Ohio Ms. Basketball finalist Karsyn Erford. Fairland held a narrow 28-27 lead at halftime despite a three-point play from Madison McKee, who finished with 13 points.
Ottawa-Glandorf took control after the break behind Alivia Grothaus. The junior scored a game-high 17 points, including 13 in the third quarter as the Titans turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 14-point lead heading into the fourth.
Allison Kuhlman added a key basket late as Ottawa-Glandorf secured the 54-48 victory. The Titans will face defending state champion Portsmouth in the Division V state championship game Saturday at UD Arena.
