A federal lawsuit has been filed against Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey. The civil suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Toledo, by former Mercer County resident Jeff Rasawehr. The suit alleges that his civil rights of free speech and freedom from unreasonable search and seizure were violated. Both connected to his arrest in 2016 on multiple counts, filed by authorities in Mercer County.

     A Michigan man gets 5 years probation for harassment charges against family members in Mercer County.

     54 year old Jeff Rasawehr was sentenced to community control after he was found guilty by a jury on misdemeanor counts each of Menacing by Stalking and Telecommunications Harassment in May. 

     Rasawehr was facing multiple charges of each of those charges and 11 counts of obstructing justice.

The Michigan man accused of harassing the Mercer County Sheriff as well as his own family members was found not guilty of all but two charges. 54-year-old Jeff Rasawehr was found guilty on menacing by stalking and telecommunications harassment. The jury returned verdicts of not guilty on 11 counts of obstructing official business, and two counts of telecommunications harassment.
