Another summer season of First Fridays has returned to Downtown Lima, and visitors on Friday night noticed the sidewalk had a lot of color. Artist David Zinn visited Downtown Lima Friday night to show First Friday visitors the world of street art, a form of art he has embraced since 2005. On Lima's Town Square, Zinn brought out his chalk and charcoal, got down on the sidewalk, and created improvised artistic creations using the sidewalk as his medium. A large crowd flocked around Zinn to watch him draw a three-dimensional creatures, including a dragon, and Zinn hopes viewers leave with a renewed sense of inspiration and creativity for sidewalk chalk.

Saturday they will be handing out chalk ‘art-to-go bags’ behind their place on Cherry Alley. They hope it will be an introduction to a summer of creative activities. They are asking that those picking up the sidewalk chalk come back downtown on June 4th to participate in the ‘Creative Walk of Dreams’ as part of downtown Lima’s ‘First Friday’ kickoff.
