The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new smartphone app that allows residents to receive real-time emergency alerts, submit anonymous tips and access public safety resources.

Thunderstorms moved through the area Tuesday afternoon, dumping a heavy amount of rain in Putnam County in a short amount of time causing yards and fields to flood, and multiple roads to be closed due to high water This prompted Sheriff Brian Siefker to issue a release warning motorists to not drive through high water.
Recently, Putnam County swore in a new sheriff, and with that new sheriff comes ideas for the upcoming year as well as an appointment for a position that hasn’t been seen in Putnam County for quite some time.
