GEMINID METEOR SHOWER
On Fri., Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer GEMINID METEOR SHOWER at DEEP CUT HISTORICAL PARK (22900 SR 66, Spencerville, OH).
Boasting up to 120 “falling stars” an hour, this is one of the northern hemisphere’s best meteor showers! The Lima Astronomical Society will provide telescopes to watch this fantastic event & view other celestial objects. We will utilize the heated shelter house to warm up as necessary, but please dress for the weather. If viewing conditions are unfavorable, LAS will present indoors.

NATURE DIY: RAVISHING WREATHS
On Sat., Dec. 14 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer NATURE DIY: RAVISHING WREATHS at the MCELROY ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER (2355 Ada Rd., Lima, OH).
Spend a “crafter-noon” making wreaths from natural materials! Learn how to wrap a grapevine wreath and decorate it with objects found in nature. For all ages and skill levels, some prewrapped wreaths will be available for younger participants. Feel free to bring any bobs & bits to help decorate your wreath and to share with others!

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE

Tis the season! Santa and Company invite you to visit Lauer House for the holidays! Families will have the opportunity to meet Santa, take pictures, and receive a Christmas cookie!

JOGGING WITH JOHNNY
On Mon., Dec. 16 at 5:00 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer JOGGING WITH JOHNNY at the OTTAWA METRO PARK (2632 Ada Rd., Lima, OH).
It’s “snow” much fun to get fit with a Johnny Appleseed accountabilibuddy! Join Naturalist Lindsey for a warm-up walk and a few laps around Ottawa Metro Park. All ages and abilities welcome in their fitness journey. Choose a pace that is comfortable for you. Dress for the weather and come out rain or shine! Meet at the Wyandot Shelter to sign in.
